After producing a few products for Conductor Adam Balkwill, I decided to do a photo shoot with him so we could get a series of images that would be suitable for his concerts for the coming months. The idea behind the images was to focus on Adam's energy and movement when he conducts either a Choir or an Orchestra. Strapping different coloured lights to his arms and chest and playing certain styles of music whilst he conducted we managed to produce some great shots. Below is how they have been used for a concert in Islington, London.

Adam Balkwill and the Nightingale Singers put on a concert as part of the Fulham Week and the theme was 'Summer music for the English Country Garden'. I thought this would be a good opportunity to use an animated gif to represent the growth and continuous movement of life within the garden through the summer months.

A project for conductor Adam Balkwill and his eclectic concert called 'Music Through the Ages'. Without a particular genre of music to focus on I looked at performance music as a whole and what is the desired effect of music to a live audience. This led me to the idea of clapping to show appreciation for the music which has been present at (good) concerts since they started.

8 page programme for the night.

Two young adults, Joe and Jason, following very different paths. Joe helps snails cross the pavement at night whereas Jason is getting walked over by his new friends.

My concept was based around movement and time, as the snail is given strong representation throughout the film. I tried to portray this by staggering the lines in the form of a trail. The film itself was quite dark in colour and mainly shot at night, I wanted to reflect this in the artwork.

A classical trio involving Susan Milan (Flute), Christopher Jepson (Cello) and Andrew Ball (Piano)

A trio of instruments requires all three elements to create a harmony. Of course, if you had only two instruments playing, you would still create a workable sound, but to appreciate the full potential of the trio all three must work together. I looked into other circumstances where this relationship occurs and discovered that a bike made for three riders has a similar connection. I used a serif typeface to bring it into a classical realm.

An aggressive inline skating DVD.

After looking at other DVDs in the same category, I decided to keep it as simple as possible. The bank of photography that skaters produce meant I definitely couldn't omit it. The image used allowed me to highlight the most important aspects of the sport - the jump and the landing.

A creative, innovative, slightly rough round the edges kind of church.

These are email flyers for events run by The Candle Factory. The hand-drawn type worked with the personality of the church and also created a theme, whilst the variety of events allowed me to explore different imagery.

A charity created to rebuild those lives that have been effected by crime and drug abuse.

A flyer to promote a fundraising event for the charity. The Nehemiah Project is based in South East London, so I focused on the location; using the streets to spell out the need to help whilst relating directly to the key target audience - the local community.
